Planning Snapshot + Feasibility Report

Understand what may be possible for your land

The first step is understanding what may actually be possible on your property.

The Planning Snapshot and Feasibility Report reviews council planning controls, site constraints and the best pathway for installing a cabin on your block.

We prepare this report in partnership with our nationwide network of town planners, who review the planning framework that applies to your property.

This step removes uncertainty and gives you a clear direction before committing to design or construction.

Why start here

Every property is different. Zoning, overlays, bushfire regulations and local planning controls can all affect what can be built.

The Planning Snapshot reviews these factors and provides a clear summary of what may be possible for your property.

Many clients find this report valuable beyond installing a cabin, as the information can help guide any future development on the block.

What is included

Planning Snapshot

The Planning Snapshot provides a tailored summary of the planning framework applicable to your property.

This includes

• Site zoning and permissibility for the proposed cabin development
• Key planning controls such as setbacks, building height and site coverage
• Relevant mapping overlays including bushfire, flooding and environmental constraints
• Assessment pathway including whether a Development Application or Complying Development Certificate may be required
• Initial observations and recommended next steps

Feasibility Report

Alongside the planning review we also provide an initial feasibility assessment for installing a cabin on your site.

This includes

• Site overview and access review
• Initial thoughts on delivery and installation
• A summary of the preferred approach for installing a cabin on the property
• Initial cost considerations for delivery and installation

Who this is for

• You already own land and want to understand what may be possible
• You are considering buying land and want to check feasibility first
• You want clarity on council approval pathways
• You want to avoid expensive mistakes before designing your cabin

What happens next

Once the Planning Snapshot is complete, you will have a clear understanding of what may be possible for your site.

From there we move through the next steps.

01. Planning Snapshot and Feasibility Report

Understand what may be possible for your land.

02. Drawings package or build slot

If you decide to proceed there are two options.

A drawings package for $3,500, which includes site specific architectural and engineering drawings required for council.

Or a 10 percent holding deposit to secure the next available building slot. This also includes the drawings package.

03. Design process

We refine the design of your cabin together. This includes floor plans, electrical layouts and inclusions.

04. Manufacturing agreement

Around three months before construction we sign the manufacturing agreement and take a 30 percent deposit to begin ordering materials.

05. Cabin construction

Your cabin is manufactured in our Billinudgel workshop, which typically takes two to three months. Progress payments occur as we reach key stages of the build.

06. Delivery and installation

We help coordinate delivery and provide support through the installation process so your cabin is ready to enjoy.
